FAQ
Why isn't my scheduled post publishing?
The scheduler picks up due variants every 30 seconds — give it up to a minute. If nothing happens after that, open the variant: the status should be Scheduled — a draft never auto-publishes, and Awaiting approval means it's waiting on the channel's approvers. If it flipped to Failed, the error message on the variant tells you why — see Publishing failures.
Can one post have two variants for the same platform?
No. A post has at most one variant per platform — creating a second one is rejected. Edit the existing variant instead. See Platform variants.
Why does my variant say "Awaiting approval"?
It's scheduled to a channel that requires sign-off. The request went to the channel's approvers automatically — once one approves, the variant publishes (within about 30 seconds if its time has already passed). A rejection returns it to draft with the reviewer's comment. See Approvals.
Do images publish?
Yes, for supported image files attached to LinkedIn variants or X tweets. Documents, videos, audio, and other files stay attached to the post for team context and are not sent to the social platforms yet.
Why can't I see a teammate's post?
It's private. Posts are visible only to their creator and the people involved until they're put on the org calendar — ask your teammate to flip the post's Visibility, or to request a peer review from you. See Permissions.
What timezone are schedules in?
Schedule times are stored in UTC and displayed in your local timezone (with the UTC offset shown next to the time). The API accepts and returns ISO 8601 timestamps. See Scheduling posts.
What happens when my token expires?
Every request with it returns 401 — there's no grace period and no renewal. Create a new token in Profile → API Tokens and swap it into your client. See Authentication.
Why did my social connection stop working?
WriteMars refreshes platform tokens automatically before they expire, but connections can still die — the platform can revoke access, or the refresh token itself expires. The fix is the same either way: reconnect the account under Settings -> Channels. See Connect social accounts.
Where do I see what an AI agent changed?
Open the post → Activity. Post/content MCP and API actions use the app's activity paths and are attributed to the token's owner. See Collaboration.
