Set up Auto-Likes

Auto-Likes fire likes from your other connected channels shortly after a variant publishes, giving the post an early nudge. This guide covers the picker. For comments, reposts, and the full rule model, see Auto-engagement.

Enable Auto-Likes​

  1. Open the post and expand the variant you want to boost.
  2. Expand the platform's Auto-Engagements section — its header shows a count. For an X variant the header reads Twitter Auto-Engagements (0) (the label uses the word "Twitter"); for LinkedIn it reads LinkedIn Auto-Engagements (0).
  3. Click Auto Likes.
  4. The Auto-Likes dialog opens.

The buttons are disabled with a setup tooltip until you've connected at least one channel on that platform. Any connected account on the same platform can like the post — including the publishing account. Connect one under Settings -> Channels.

Pick the channels and the window​

  • Tick the channels that should like the post, or use Select all. Channels already liking it show Already added.
  • Set Spread over — the chips are 10 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 3 hrs, and 1 day (default 10 min). Likes are staggered across this window rather than fired at once: "Likes are staggered inside this window; a few may land later to keep engagement looking organic."

The organic-safety cap​

To keep the pattern from looking automated, WriteMars allows at most 3 channels per post per rolling hour. If you select more, the extras still run — they just spill past your window:

The account card also flags the overflow with "Extends past the {window} window" and an estimated "Last like {eta}", so you can see exactly when the final like is expected. Pick a longer Spread over window, or fewer channels, if you'd rather they all land inside it.

Daily caps​

Each channel has a daily engagement ceiling shared across all its automations:

  • LinkedIn — 25 engagements per day
  • X — 50 engagements per day

Likes are also spaced at least a few minutes apart with a little random jitter. Once a channel hits its daily cap, further likes wait rather than fire — expected, not an error.

Rule states and delayed runs​

Engagements run server-side in roughly 60-second sweeps after the post publishes; the dialog polls every 30 seconds while any are pending. Each rule reports its own state:

  • Done — the likes went out.
  • Paused — the rule is stopped.
  • Hit a snag — retrying automatically — a transient failure that WriteMars is re-attempting on its own.

If our engagement runner is having trouble, an amber banner appears above pending rules:

Engagement runs are delayed — a system issue on our side. Your automations will run once it recovers.
